JUNE 2025

We are now nearly halfway through 2025.  How time flies!

Treasurer

We are pleased to announce that we now have a new Treasurer who is currently working with Teresa Robinson, Trustee / Secretary, who agreed to take on the role on a temporary basis.

Volunteer / Trustee

As always, we would welcome new Volunteers to our amazing, friendly team so if you have a couple of hours to spare, please get in touch. 

Also, additional Trustees would be welcome, so if you would like to help manage and run the library we look forward to hearing from you.

EVENTS

Family Beetle Drive – Friday 13^th June, 5.45pm for a 6pm start

We are holding a Family Beetle Drive on Friday 13^th June.  The cost is £3.00 per adult and £1.00 per child. 

If you would like to take part in this new event please sign up by Wednesday 11^th June so that we know how many tables and chairs we need to have ready.  There will be a prize for the winning adult and winning child so contact us if you are interested in taking part!

Cream Tea Special – Saturday 5^th July, 10am to 1pm

Come along to our Special 1^st Saturday of the month Coffee Morning on 5^th July from 10am to 1pm when we will be serving scones with jam and cream with limitless instant drinks for the price of £4.50 per person.

Other Events Planned

Friday 15^th August – Children’s Activity Afternoon from 2.30pm to 4pm

There will be lots of activities both inside and outside (weather permitting) for the children to take part in which will include junk modelling, hopscotch, Giant Jenga, Sandpit and more.  There will be a small charge for this which we will confirm at a later date.

Friday 29^th August – Bingo Night, 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

  £6.00 for 6 x 2 games with prizes of £2.00 per line and £10.00 per house.

Saturday 20^th September – Autumn Fair, 11am to 2pm

  We will be holding our usual Autumn Fair, with stalls both inside and outside on the car park.  If you would be interested in a stall, please email us at

Friday 3^rd October – Quiz Night, 7pm for 7.30pm start

  Tickets will be on sale nearer the time at £7.50 per person which includes a light supper.

Saturday 22^nd November – Christmas Fair, 11am to 2pm

  Again we will be holding our usual Christmas Fair with stalls both inside and outside on the car park.  If you would be interested in a stall, please email us at

Saturday 6^th December – 10^th Year Celebration, 10am to 2pm

  The library has been open as a Voluntary run Library for 10 years in December so we would like you to celebrate this milestone with us.  Further details to follow.

We are also looking for some new Trustees to join us.  If you would be interested in becoming a Trustee and helping to manage and run the library, please email us.

Bingo Night – 21^st March 2025

Thank you to all who supported our Bingo Night back in March.  You helped us to raise £93.20 which goes towards keeping the library open.  We wouldn’t be here without your support.

Upcoming Events

                             Friday 11^th April – Fun Quiz Night, 7pm for 7.30pm start - £7.50 per person

As usual the price of the tickets will include a light supper and there will be a prize for the winning team.

Tickets are on sale now!  Limited space available so get yours now!

Saturday 3^rd May – May Fair & Plant Sale – 11am to 2pm

Our first fair of 2025 will also include a Plant sale and we will have stalls inside and outside.  The library will be having a pre-loved book and jigsaw sale as well as a Tombola and refreshments will be available to purchase.

So far the other stalls we have booked are Cakes and Samosas, Cards, Tropic, Garden Ornaments, Handmade Items, Beaded Jewellery, Avon and Macrame as well as a Face Painter.

We now only have outside spots available if you would like to book a stall at £15.00 please email leicesterforesteastcommlibrary@gmail.com for the full details.

Make a note in your diary so that you don’t miss these events.

What have we got planned for 2025?

In May we are looking to hold a Children’s Chocolate Bingo in May where the prize for a full house will be - ‘Chocolate’. 

June there will be a Family Beetle Drive.  Date to be confirmed.

On the 12^th July we will be holding a Cream Tea Special with a Scone, Jam and Cream with limitless instant coffee and tea for £4.50.

In August we will be having a Children’s Activity Afternoon.

On the 20^th September there will be our Autumn Fair.

Another Bingo Night is to be held on the 29^th August and a Quiz Night will be held in October.

Our Christmas Fair will be on the 22^nd November.

Confirmation of the dates of these events will be posted on Facebook, Instagram and our website so keep an eye on these to make notes in your diaries.
