Diwali at Leicester Forest East Community Library
On Saturday the 23rd October LEF Community Library hosted its annual Diwali event. It was a wonderfully fun filled afternoon enjoyed by the local community from aged 8 – 80!
The main organiser for the event was long time volunteer Tara Pankhania, she not only provided some wonderful traditional decorations, but alongside Oksana Kesh, brought in some incredible home cooked traditional Indian food. It was greatly enjoyed by all who attended. Guests of the event were also able to let their hair down as they danced the afternoon away with music provided by Mr Pankhania.
Diwali in Leicester is the largest celebration outside of India, although a much smaller gathering than in Belgrave Road on Diwali night, the attendees of Saturdays event got a taste for what the full celebration would be like.

Thank you again to everyone who came along to the event and to our wonderful volunteers for putting on a great show!
